A New Year! A New Story!

Axel Storm By Shoo Rayner
This week we have been reading the excellent story Axel Storm: Diamond Moon by Shoo Rayner (you can follow him on twitter @shoorayner and find his YouTube account here). We really enjoyed the story and decided to retell the story, but parts were missing from our retllings. Different groups could remember diffrent part so we got together and drew our different parts on a class story board. We checked with the book and remembered almost all of it!

Here are the story boards:

Why not get your child to retell the story?

  4. Abby really enjoyed telling me all about Axel Storm's secret mission to help his Uncle to test the defences at Museum. Abby liked when the Egyptian Mummy's case opened up and Axel's Cousin was inside. It's a lovely story and a great story map Year 2, Well Done!

  6. Lillie-mai and Caisie-leigh loved telling me this story. Caisie-leigh remembered quite a lot which considering she does'nt usually enjoy stories is very nice to hear. Lillie-mai loved that the parents got involved by leaving a comment here. Both are really enjoying their new work in year 2.

  10. Good work, very interesting. We will keep trying to convince Matteo to summarize the story for us. I think, this is a good exercise to teach children how to summarize stories. Well done.
